Bourbon Caramel Milkshake

This is the ultimate milkshake. I mean, bourbon, caramel, AND ice cream. Need I say more? If you’ve never experienced a boozy milkshake with bourbon, you need to make this milkshake IMMEDIATELY. What use is being a grown up if you can’t add booze to your favorite childhood treat?

This milkshake is completely indulgent. The homemade, oh-so simple caramel sauce is just the right amount of sweetness to make a plain ol’ vanilla milkshake better than ever. Of course then the bourbon comes in and warms you from the inside with every sip. Being grown up has never tasted so good!

INSTRUCTIONS: In a small saucepan over high heat, combine sugar, water and light corn syrup. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally, and cook until the mixture turns amber in color, about 6 minutes. Slowly pour in the heavy cream and stir until combined. Be careful as you pour in the heavy cream as it will bubble and splatter because of the cool cream being added to a hot mixture. Boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat and cool completely.

Combine all of the ingredients for the shakes into the bowl of a blender. Blend until smooth. Divide evenly between two glasses and top with whipped cream and any leftover caramel sauce.
