Are your meats all natural?

Yes, most definitely! Our meats come from a free range, antibiotic, and hormone free farms and are all natural. They are fed a natural diet with plenty of room to run around and play piggy kickball.

Are your products gluten free?

The following products are gluten-free:

  • BBQ ribs
  • BBQ Sauces
  • Pulled Pork
  • Brisket
  • Chicken
  • Ham
  • Turkey
  • All Sausages
  • All Bacon

The rest of our products may contain trace amounts of gluten, so proceed carefully if you have celiac disease.

So, the meat is fully cooked, right?

Yes!  Our ribs, pulled meats, brisket, ham and turkey are slow smoked by us to seal in the special Pig of the Month flavor and save you time. All you have to do is reheat and eat!  

Sausages and bacon are smoked, and while you can technically eat them “raw” we don’t recommend it — so we include our top 5 ways to prepare both products in your order.

Can I serve the barbecue the day it arrives?

Our barbecue typically needs about a day to thaw, but if you would like we also include reheating instructions from a frozen state on our reheating booklet that comes with every order.

If you're ordering for a party or event please note that when checking out and allow it to arrive 2 days in advance to be safe.  

How big are your ribs?

Each rack is 1.75 -2lbs per rack and has between 12-14 bones.  One rack will feed 2 normal people or one very hungry hippo. 

What is the difference between a rack and a slab?

Where you’re from :)  No difference at all — same thing, just a different way of saying it.  Kind of like pop and soda…

How do I reheat what was just delivered?

We include lots of ways to reheat your meats depending on what's most convenient for you.  Grill, Oven, Microwave or Slow Cooker -- We've got you covered!

How long can I keep the ribs in the refrigerator? Freezer?

Our product will last for about 2 weeks in the refrigerator or up to 3 months in the freezer…how could you wait any longer?!

Do you products have any common allergens in them?

None of our products have any nuts, soy, milk or eggs in them.

I’m not sure how much food to order… can you help a brother out?

But of course!

  • 1 rack of our ribs (1.75-2lbs) will feed 2 people normally or 1 very hungry hippo.
  • The 2 rack package will feed 4 people comfortably
  • One pound of pulled pork, chicken or brisket will make 3-4 sandwiches.
  • 1 lb of sausages will have 4 links, so plan accordingly.



How long can I keep a bottle of sauce once it’s been opened?

Sauce should be consumed within one (1) year from the date it was opened.  Once opened they should be refrigerated.

Does any of your products contain MSG, high fructose corn syrup or other preservatives?

No. Preservatives are for jerks. And jerks we are not. See our policy on real and all natural foods.



How do I track my package?

You will receive an email the day that your package ships with the tracking number and a link to FedEx. Depending on the shipping method you chose, you can expect to receive your order within 2-4 days from shipment date. FedEx will leave the package at the address provided without a signature, so when you see it has been delivered be on the lookout!

There was no dry ice left in my box – now what?

We ship your order with the exact amount of dry ice that it need to reach you.  Usually, there is none left when it arrives.  As long as the meats are cool to the touch they are good to eat.  If something happens to your order in route, don’t worry we’ve got you covered with our 100% money back guarantee - we’ll either refund your money or send you a new one.  

Do you offer any overseas shipping?

Due to the perishable nature of most of our products, we cannot ship overseas.  

Can I ship to a post office box or APO address?

We cannot ship to PO or APO addresses due to the perishable nature of our products.

How long can food stay in the box once I receive it?

Once the package is received, you will want to put it in the refrigerator or freezer as soon as possible. Meat left in the box overnight once it has been delivered will most likely spoil. *Please note we can not be held responsible for any food that was left unattended after safe delivery*

How long does shipping take?

We typically have a 2-3 day lead time before your order will ship since everything is made fresh to order. We don’t like food sitting around our kitchens and we think you’ll appreciate the freshness of our smoked meats.

If you'd like to order for a special occasion we have a delivery date selector tool when checking out, so you can pick your desired date and we won't ship it until then.

Do I need to be home to accept the delivery?

No. FedEx is instructed to leave the package without a signature. If you’re shipping this as a gift, it’s a good idea to give them a heads up to expect the package.

I live in Dayton – where can I pick up locally?

You can call us to arrange a local pick up anytime at our facility. Just give us a ring and we’d be happy to set it up for you (310-737-8431).

I didn’t get a purchase receipt!

A lot of times when your first order from us, your purchase receipt will get sent to spam on accident.  Check there first and if you still can’t find it, e-mail to request a new one.  You can also log in to your account and check on the status of your order and see past orders as well.



Can I store my shipping and billing addresses so that I don’t have to enter them next time?

Of course! That is one of the many great features of our new system. When you sign up we require your billing address because it is attached to your form of payment. If your billing address or shipping address changes you can easily change it.

I lost my password! How do I get it back?

No problem! Go the Login page, click Forgot your password? and enter your account e-mail. You will receive an e-mail with your password in it so you can get to ordering some ‘que!

Where is Pig of the Month physically located?

We are located at 2571 Timber Lane in Dayton, Ohio. We do not offer a dine-in location of the “traditional nature”. If you live in the area call us and arrange a local pick up. Otherwise, we ship nationwide right to your front door!

I ordered something, but now I’d like to make a change to my order...HALP!

Don’t sweat it. These things happen and we understand. Just e-mail with your first and last name and order number and we will work with you to make any changes.

Your name is Pig of the Month… does that mean I’m going to get billed for something every month?

No way Jose!  We hate companies that do that – so we would never operate like that. The name originally started because we offered so many different styles of BBQ, but as we’ve grown we’ve dropped some of them. We now offer everything in our gourmet food store as a one-time purchase or you can choose to join our BBQ of the Month and Bacon of the Month Clubs.

When I order the BBQ of the Month club, can I choose which months I want?

You can choose which month you want to start the shipments, but after that it goes consecutively. Just put your preference into the special date field when checking out!
