We can't take credit for this recipe. This was given to us by a chef that used to work with us, and would make these beans for everyone in the warehouse.
When he moved away, we begged him for this recipe, and now you get to experience the deliciousness that is pintos charros, too.
What are pintos charros, you ask?
Pintos Charros are our smoky, savory take on baked beans — slow-simmered with bacon, rich andouille sausage, and tender pork until every bite is rich, hearty, and just a little spicy.
They’re perfect alongside ribs, pulled pork, grilled chicken… basically anything you’d normally pair with baked beans.
Warning: your guests might start sneaking spoonfuls before the main course even arrives.
